Partial List of What to Bring
Keep in mind that you'll be at 10,000ft (3300m) for your retreat. Although you'll be inside most of the time, you may want to venture out on a walk outside. Come prepared for the weather!
- Comfortable clothing that is warm enough for the season. Winter is cold and windy in the mountains!
- Notebook and pen for taking notes
- A blanket to wrap around you for meditation if you get cold easily
- Meditation cushion
- Our Summit Dharma Center Pecha(s) (prayer books) if you have them
- Water bottle for the shrine room (you cannot bring any other liquids into this area)
- Sleeping bag for extra warmth (if you are staying at the Retreat Center itself)
- Toiletries, including any medications you require
- If possible, some extra food to share with everyone (cookies, brownies, muffins, etc)
- If possible, some flowers to help decorate the shrine room
Etiquette/Special Considerations for Lamas
In general, we follow simple Shrine Room etiquette for all retreats and classes. For more information about how to
act in the presence of a high lama, such as Ringu Tulku Rinpoche, please visit the Karma Triana Dharmachakra site, or their specific section on
shrine room etiquette, which is a wealth of information
about basic etiquette.
